Weddings at New Hope

Getting married at New Hope.

Marriage is a covenant made before God, and we would count it a joy to celebrate yours. We are committed to building marriages, not just performing ceremonies.

Why it matters

More than a ceremony.

We are pleased that God has blessed you with the joy of love, and that your relationship has matured to the place of a lasting commitment to each other.

Especially in a day when so many marriages struggle, we feel a real need for couples to take the step of marriage after thoughtful preparation. That is why we walk with every couple toward the marriage, not just toward the wedding day.

How it begins

Three steps to your day.

It starts with a phone call to our office.

01

Call the office

Reach out at least six months before your date. Our team will talk through your wedding and check which dates are open.

02

Reserve your date

A $200 retainer holds your date on the calendar. It is cash or check, and non-refundable within 120 days of the wedding.

03

Prepare for marriage

You will meet with a pastor three or four times to prepare for marriage and plan the ceremony together.

Required for every couple

Marriage preparation.

We require marriage preparation for every couple married at New Hope. It is designed to help you evaluate your relationship, form realistic expectations, and build the communication that a marriage needs.

You will meet with a pastor three or four times. Together you will talk through communication, finances, in-laws, roles, and the spiritual life of your home. The pastor serves as a guide and a resource. The work of preparing belongs to the two of you.

Outside ordained pastors are welcome to officiate. Marriage preparation is still required, with a letter confirming completion sent to our office two weeks before the wedding.

Planning your budget

Fees, plainly listed.

We try to provide our facilities, people, and equipment at reasonable rates. Payment is by cash or check only.

Good to know

A few house notes.

  • Decorations

Pew bows and lighted aisle tulle are available at no charge. Center aisle candelabras need special permission. Ask the office what else is on hand.

  • Christmas season

Our Christmas decorations are in place between November 18 and January 10 and cannot be removed for weddings.

  • On our grounds

No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property, including the parking lot, and no alcohol on church grounds.

  • A clean send-off

Tossing rice, confetti, or birdseed is not permitted. Sparklers and bubbles are a lovely alternative to ask about.

If you'd like it shared

Livestream, if you want it.

Most couples celebrate in person and keep the day close. If you would like your service livestreamed and archived for family and friends who cannot travel, we offer that as an option. Here are services couples have chosen to share.
