Ethan Smith
Ethan has a heart for helping students discover God’s love and grow in their faith. Growing up with his parents, Rich and Regina, as strong examples of faith, Ethan felt called to ministry early in life. His journey has been shaped by experiences as a backcountry guide in Yosemite, serving in global ministries, and earning a degree in Biblical and Religious Studies from Fresno Pacific University.
Ethan met his wife, Kim, through an outdoor discipleship program, and together they share a love for adventure and ministry. When he’s not with students, you’ll likely find him snowboarding, mountain biking, or spending time with family. His favorite verse, Romans 5:8, reminds him of God’s unconditional love and grace: “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Where Faith Meets Family
New Hope Community Church is a Christian church in Clovis, California. We gather around Scripture, prayer, and the long, slow work of growing in faith together. From Bible studies to youth programs to local outreach, we make space for real relationships and steady discipleship rooted in the teachings of Jesus.
