What’s Hiding Under the bed?
Have you ever been afraid of the dark? Heard a creak in the hallway and pulled the covers over your head? Fear is something we all face—but God’s light is brighter than any shadow!
This summer, at New Hope Community Church’s VBS, we’re tackling fears in a BIG way with our theme:
“There’s a Monster Under My Bed: Shining God’s Light on My Fears!”
Through exciting Bible adventures, fun music, wacky games, and hands-on activities, kids will discover that no fear is too big when Jesus is by their side.

VBS 2025: “There’s a Monster Under My Bed!” is a wild and wonderful week of faith, fun, and friendly monsters—and it wouldn’t be possible without an incredible team of volunteers.
Whether you’re guiding a group of kiddos, helping with crafts, running games, serving snacks, or offering a warm smile at check-in, you’re helping shine the light of Jesus in powerful ways.

Get ready for four unforgettable mornings filled with faith, fun, and a few friendly monsters! At VBS 2025, we’ll shine God’s light on our fears and discover that with Jesus, there’s nothing to be afraid of.
Here’s what’s in store:
Bible Adventures in the Light
Each day, we’ll step into incredible Bible stories where God’s people faced their biggest fears—and saw His power in action! From Daniel and the lions to Jesus calming the storm, we’ll learn how faith conquers fear.
Monstrously Fun Music & Worship
Sing, dance, and stomp your fears away with high-energy songs that remind us Jesus is always with us!
Monster-Sized Snacks
Fuel up with delicious treats, because even monster hunters need a snack break!
Wild & Wacky Games
Whether we’re dodging “shadow chasers” or racing toward the “light,” every game is packed with excitement and teamwork!
Each day, we’ll turn on the light of God’s truth and watch the fears fade away. So, grab a friend, bring your biggest questions, and get ready for an adventure where faith shines the brightest!

At VBS 2025: There’s a Monster Under My Bed!, we’ll explore how God’s love helps us face our fears—whether it’s the dark, the unknown, or the things we can’t control. Through Bible stories, music, and hands-on activities, kids will discover that no fear is bigger than Jesus!
Monday: Fear of the Unknown
Daniel faced a den full of lions, but God was right there with him! (Daniel 6)
Tuesday: Fear of Trouble
The disciples thought they were sinking, but Jesus calmed the storm! (Mark 4:35-41)
Wednesday: Fear of the Dark
The Bible calls Jesus the “Light of the World”—we don’t have to be afraid of the dark! (John 8:12)
Thursday: Fear of Standing Alone
David took on a giant, but he wasn’t alone—God was with him! (1 Samuel 17)
About MrJ Band
In 1976, MrJ Ministries was established, which eventually developed into The MrJ Band, a creative theater group that has touched the lives of more than a quarter-million young children and their families. Through their Christ-centered message, conveyed via vibrant music, theater, and interactive teachings, the band has been able to organize various events across the country. Their ultimate goal is to proclaim the Gospel while also nurturing young artists and helping them spread the word of God through creative means.
During New Hope’s VBS, the MRJ Band leads children in worship, while our team of staff and volunteers helps coordinate the activity and snack stations. Students will be placed in smaller groups with a dedicated volunteer who will help encourage them throughout VBS.

Lessons
Kids engage with God's Word through interactive, hands-on activities that bring biblical stories to life.
Crafts
Each craft session lets children express their creativity while deepening their understanding of the day's theme.
Games
Through water games andother fun activities, kids enjoy a lively time of bonding and forming lasting friendships.
Worship
In age-specific breakout sessions, children learn new songs, memorize verses, and experience the joy of worship.
BIble Study
Children focus on memorizing daily verses and reflecting in their Quiet Time Journal to foster personal spiritual growth.
Closing Rally
We gather for a daily celebration, ending the day with corporate praise and worship, uniting in our faith journey.
